Telematics provider VisionTrack expects its new Halo 360 video system, debuting at the CV Show in April, to appeal to fleet managers.
The four-camera software system links the brand’s in-vehicle CCTV units, uploading real-time data via the cloud to the Halo 360 platform. A fleet manager can view the data at any time anywhere around the world, on a desktop computer or using an Android or IOS app on smart devices.
Features of the system include notifying within seconds both the fleet manager and the operator’s insurer of any incident occurring to a vehicle, using the data uploaded from up to four cameras mounted on the vehicle.
The data, all of which is admissible in any court case resulting from an incident, includes speed at time of impact, force of collision, date, time, location, and HD video from all around a vehicle lens, including 10 seconds of footage before and after a collision.
Eye in the sky
VisionTrack adds that the Halo system is also an excellent driver behaviour tool, because while it tracks heavy braking and accelerating it also shows why such behaviour is taking place, with full video back-up.
With the Halo system in place, VisionTrack expects LCV operators to see insurance disputes significantly reduced and ‘crash for crash’ claims virtually wiped out, saving an operator both significant money and inconvenience.
VisionTrack managing director Simon Marsh describes the Halo 360 as a “game changer” that provides fleet managers with information on their whole fleet at all times with the click of a mouse.
“Journey history, location, ETA, with full video back-up at any stage, both historical and live – in the event of an incident you get a full set of impact data complete with 360 HD footage which is court admissible and sent to your insurer within seconds of the collision,” Marsh says.
“The system works for multi-size fleets, HGV multi-camera systems, or just single forward facing camera systems for vans and cars. The set up and maintenance costs are low as well and the system is easily retro-fitted to any vehicle.”
VisionTrack will launch the new system during the CV Show at the NEC Birmingham, between 25th-27th April.
